Daniel Cheong, a
resident of the United Arab Emirates, has for years sought to capture
the civic landscapes he sees through his lens. Here, we've made a
selection of his photos of the thrumming UAE capital of Dubai, a locus
for high-net-worth individuals keen on work or recreation. Enjoy his

Surreal: Daniel aims to perfect
the technique of Digital Blending, which consists of manually blending
multiple bracketed exposures in order to obtain the maximum dynamic
range.
“Since I was a kid I always
enjoyed taking photos. But I became serious about it when I bought my
first DSLR camera in 2006, when I was living in Singapore,” says Daniel.
