El Diablo Restaurant | Lanzarote Island, Spain

El Diablo Restaurant | Lanzarote Island, Spain
El Daiblo is a unique restaurant where the chefs cook food from the fires that comes from the vent of the volcano. The Spanish translated as "The Devil" it is right on the top of an active volcano, the island Lanzarote, Canary Island, Spain. Where the Chefs actually cook food over the heat produced by an active volcano. Feast your eyes on this ultimate barbecue experience complete with panoramic and dramatic views. Enjoyed against the volcanic backdrop of Lanzarote's Timanfay National Park in the Canary Islands, the food served at El Diablo is cooked on a massive cast iron grill built over a large hole of volcano. This dormant volcano has been peacefully gurgling below the surface since it's last eruption in 1730, 1736 and 1824, because the rainfall is low there is hardly any erosion. The island is covered by more than 174 square kilometers of ash and volcanic magma.
"El Diablo" restaurant dates back to 1970, when the Spanish artist and engineer Cesar Manrique decided to build a restaurant in the area for touristic purposes, and chose the summit of the volcano so that visitors could enjoy the breathtaking views of island. The mind is indeed its own place, and your idea of Heaven could well be a steak cooked by volcano fire. The restaurant consulted scientists and volcanologists to check the food and the way it is being grilled, and they gave it the thumbs up, deeming it safe, "there were no dangers associated with this technique of cooking at all".
Apart from the food and the technique, the one other aspect which hooks people to the El Diablo restaurant is the scenic beauty of the Lanzarote Island. Though it is unlike the general conception of an island, the surrounding of the Lanzarote Island is breathtaking. It is barren and is full of red sands and volcanic rocks which give the feel of being in the Martian land but, all together it gives a different kind of experiences. There are about 100 volcanic mountains in the island which suddenly cam up in the 18th century but, that has not deterred tourists from enjoying a meal of their favorite game on the island.
The Island's volcanic nature that inspired the founder of this restaurant to be creative and develop an innovative cooking technique, grilling the various dishes offered by the restaurant on the heat produced by a small crater. The restaurant's guest therefore get to enjoy tasty dishes and a unique dining experience, knowing that their food have entirely prepared using the Earth's natural heat. Due to the volcanic nature of the area on which the restaurant was built, it is well known for the high temperatures that rise from the layers near the surface. These were used to create the massive fireplace on which the food is cooked.
This was achieved by drilling a well deep enough to provide the right temperature for cooking. the success in building to strange fireplace was the starting point for " El Diablo" The dining rooms were build next, followed by a kitchen near the stove. Nine layers of basalt were used for the restaurant's foundations rather than traditional foundations, which would be impossible to build in such a volcanic environment.
A great many tourists to the Canary Islands visit this unique restaurant to enjoy the experience of a unique meal cooked by the Earth's natural heat. It also invites tourists to visit the volcanic grill and take photos of themselves alongside it, on organised tours.
The volcano does not spew lava because its dormant but the bursts of heat or hot vapor are enough to cook delectable dishes that have many tourists flocking to the restaurant in droves. Inside the restaurant El Diablo established a unique work of art: "falcons" consisting of camel bone and wood inzhirovogo locate on a hill of black volcanic ash. This song — a tribute to the legend of Hilario. Also throughout the restaurant you can see the jack-iron figures, it is a symbol of Timanfaya National Park, Cesar Manrique coined it as anything else suitable for the "hot" places.

A dzong is the Bhutanese name for a building which in other countries would be called a castle or a fortress. A dzong is usually divided into two parts — a secular administrative section and a religious monastic section. Most of Bhutan's dzong were severely damaged in the 1897, cause of earthquake and were repaired and rebuilt in there original layout. Many have also suffered disastrous fires caused by the use of butter lamps in temples. Traditionally dzongs are built with no architectural plans or drawings; the builders rely on the mental image of what is requited. They are also said to constructed using no nails.  The dzong and the surrounding area suffered severe damge in 1994 also when a glacial lake fare up in the Pho Chhu valley burst sending a flash flood downstream. The access bridge was crushed and the flood water was reached to the top of the entry stairs and into the courtyard.  Punaka Dzong is perhaps the most beautiful in the country, touched by the peace and serenity of the place, a truly memorable experience.
