Selena Gomezs Bad-Girl Moments

Selena Gomez is a good girl, but the former Disney diva has had her bad-girl moments. In honor of her 21st birthday — a time when all of us have been known to cut loose — on July 22, take a look back at the rare instances when Selena showed her naughty side.

    5. Partying in "Spring Breakers"
The former "Wizards of Waverly Place" cutie shocked fans when she revealed she planned to co-star as one of the bikini-clad co-eds in the racy movie "Spring Breakers," directed by controversial director Harmony Korine. In fact, Gomez advised her younger fans not to see the flick, full of drugs, alcohol, violence, and sex. Korine later explained that he couldn't even include some of the more explicit scenes in order to keep the 2013 film's R rating. "In the party scenes a lot of things got really graphic," he said on the DVD of the movie. "There were things I couldn't even show in the film that were probably crazy for [the actresses] to see." Meanwhile, the singer was photographed enjoying Miami during downtime from shooting, along with her on-again/off-again beau Justin Bieber, co-star Ashley Benson, and Benson's former boyfriend Ryan Good.

    4. Infuriating Pink.
Gomez found herself the target of criticism from pop star Pink in 2011, when she painted horses pink for her "Love You Like a Love Song" video shoot. Pink, who's 12 years older than Gomez, tweeted that, "Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions," before she found out who was making the video. But Gomez stood her ground, and her rep issued a statement that, "It was important to the Production Company, Record Label and Ms. Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken. A non-toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising." Eventually, though, Gomez cut the pink horses from the clip altogether.

    3. Rendezvousing with the Biebs.
Like a lot of ladies, Gomez has that one relationship she just can't give up. The difference is that hers is playing out before all of us, because the object of her affection happens to be one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Since she and Justin Beiber called it quits after more than a year and a half together, they've been seen sneaking into each other's homes, hotel rooms, and private planes as they rekindle their romance … at least until their next breakup a few days later. Gomez's close friend (and fellow good girl) Taylor Swift confirmed that she, for one, is not so eager to see Jelena reunite when Swift was caught on video sticking out her tongue as Gomez and Bieber embraced backstage at the Billboard Music Awards. less

    2. Wearing a Bindi.
The biggest Selena Gomez scandal to date happened when she placed a Bindi on her forehead for a Bollywood-themed performance at the MTV Movie Awards in April. Rajan Zed, leader of the Universal Society of Hinduism, issued a statement that read, "The bindi on the forehead is an ancient tradition in Hinduism and has religious significance . It's not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed. Selena should apologize and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions." Gomez didn't apologize, and instead she rocked a Bindi several more times, although she did eventually explain why she went with the look. "I think the song has that Hindu, tribal feel and I wanted to translate that," Gomez said on New York-based Z100's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. "I've been learning about my chakra and bindis and the culture … It's beautiful." less

    1. Celebrating tonight.
Odds are that Gomez's 21st won't be as wild and crazy as, say, Prince Harry's infamous romp in Vegas, but you never know. The brunette beauty does have a big night planned. As far back as April, she was talking about having a huge hip-hop-themed bash at her house to mark the occasion. Then, just last month, she shared a few more details. "My family from Texas, my friends [and] my cousins are flying in," the Dallas-area native told "Entertainment Tonight." "I will have some of my best friends in L.A." Just make sure to have guests drop off their cell phones at the door, Selena!
