Tom Cruise Divorce Quotes False, Actor Did Not Speak About Personal Life, Says Rep

Contrary to original reports, Tom Cruise has yet to talk about his divorce from Katie Holmes.
An interview Cruise did on German TV network ProSieben was picked up by the German tabloid Bunte, which then mixed "some real and some made up" quotes and attributed the answers to personal questions, a rep for Cruise tells omg!.
"The entire interview was about his career. He was not asked any personal questions," continues Cruise's rep.
The 50-year-old actor, who is currently promoting "Oblivion" (out April 19), was more than happy to discuss his film and some great memories he had while shooting in Iceland.
"For my 50th birthday [the director] Joe and the studio gave me a bubble bike," Cruise said on ProSieben. "It was so amazing ... I was allowed to ride it in areas where you are no longer allowed to drive. [Iceland] is a beautiful country."
A few things initially reported, Cruise actually did say, including: "It's great to be 50 … I enjoy it." The actor also revealed he would be OK if kids Suri, Connor, or Isabella expressed interest in acting since they have grown up around movie sets.
However, the quote that got the most pickup on Tuesday was when Cruise allegedly opened up about his divorce for the first time.
"I did not expect that," the actor was quoted as saying, along with: "Life is a challenge…To be 50 and have experiences and think you have everything under control, and then it hits you — that's what life is … Life is tragicomic. You need a certain sense of humor."
These false quotes made headlines, not only on omg!, but also on E!, USA Today, The Huffington Post, Extra, and The Hollywood Reporter (just to name a few).
The ProSieben interviewer, Steven Gaetjen, backs up Cruise's rep, telling People that he never asked Cruise about Holmes or the divorce.
