Filmmaker Nikhil Advani, who is gearing up for his film 'D-Day' says Mumbai bomb blast changed his life and that inspired him to make the film.

"It's fictional characters. We have taken events from India's history and used them as triggers. I am particularly obsessed with the fact that I was 21 when the bomb blast happened in Mumbai... it affected my life, quite a lot and I wanted to make a film to that particular event and that's why this film was made," Advani told reporters during the first Look and trailer launch of 'D-Day'.

'D-Day' is the story of four unassuming protagonists, all with varying back stories and a common mission that brings them together on foreign soil to execute one such mission. It explores their journey, their choices, their loss, their victory.

Rishi Kapoor took everyone by surprise by playing a baddie in Agneepath and this helped director Nikhil Advani to convince the veteran actor for yet another negative role in his film D-Day. The trailer of D-Day shows Kapoor clad in suits, silk kurtas, and sporting aviators and a mustache.

"When I met Rishiji first and discussed the role, he was like are you mad, I am not doing it. We did a look test, not to convince me but him so that he could get convinced that he can play this role," Advani told reporters at the launch.

Shruti plays a prostitute from Napier Road, Karachi, in D-Day.

In the film, Arjun Rampal, who plays a RAW agent, falls in love with Shruti Haasan's character.

Huma plays the role of Zoya Rehman in the film.

Irrfan Khan's character name is Wali Khan.

The subject of the film and the looks of all the characters (notably Rishi Kapoor's) are being much talked-about.

Looks like Nikhil is all set to present all his leading actors in never-seen-before roles, with Arjun and Huma Qureshi doing action, Rishi playing a dreaded underworld don, and now Shruti, who has mostly done light romantic films, playing a prostitute

    Still from the film
