Bhaag Milkha Bhaag: Stills

Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Farhan Akhtar plays the male lead in the film.

      The biopic on Indian Olympic sprinter Milkha Singh, called Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB), starring Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor, will hit screens on July 12.

    This is the first time Farhan Akhtar will share screen space with Sonam Kapoor. Sources close to the actor says he wants to do yet another film with the Sonam.Those who have seen the rushes of the film say Sonam does not have a full-fledged role in the film. A source says, “Farhan wants to act with Sonam again and has decided to offer her another project. He is quite keen to have her as his co- star again, perhaps in a romantic comedy.” Insiders say that the director- actor, who has been on a promotional spree recently, apparently plans to take his new film on the floors towards the year-end.

    Cricketer Yuvraj Singh's actor-father Yograj Singh, who will be seen as Farhan Akhtar's coach in 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag', says working in the film has been an emotional experience for him as it reminded him of his training days with his son.

    The film’s makers have devised a unique promotional strategy for the same. A source close to the production house reveals that a video is being shot featuring prominent personalities from Indian sports, in which, they will all be seen singing the National Anthem.

    Milkha Singh, on various platforms has mentioned on the transformation he has witnessed in Farhan and how he has actually taken key inputs from him and worked on them closely. However, this time it is Mrs. Milkha Singh who is all praises for Farhan. She feels Farhan has given his 200 percent to the film and he truly deserves an award.

    Prakash Raj, who known for his villainous roles is now all set to change his on-screen image. We’ve been told that the 48-year-old actor will now be seen playing the role of an affable-yet-strict teacher.

    It wasn't an easy transformation for Farhan who had to undergo a strict regimen to get into his character.

    The efforts are showing.
