Comfortable Heels: What Women Want

Ladies know the line between style and comfort can be a hard one to toe, especially for our toes. Today there are more women in the workforce than ever before, and while we're getting closer and closer to shattering that glass ceiling, there is still the expectation to look put-together and professional in the workplace. In a traditional office setting, that means one thing: heels. We grilled Meghan Cleary, footwear expert and author of "Shoe Are You?," on the best tricks and tips to finding heels that straddle what she refers to as the "style/comfort spectrum we all walk along as women."

The industry insider confirms our findings: in recent years there has been an incredible explosion of impractically high, platform pumps, and now women and retailers alike are experiencing a kind of blow back. Comfortable shoes are taking over! While options are still somewhat limited, many ladies are now on the hunt for designs that won't leave them in agony with blisters (or worse) at the end of the day. Clearly Kathy Ireland and Sarah Jessica Parker got the memo. Women's Wear Daily reports that the supermodel super mogul and "Sex in The City" actress will both be releasing new shoe lines of comfortable footwear for the spring of 2015 and 2014, respectively. Well, we can't wait that long. With the help of our footwear expert, we've handpicked the most popular and the most comfortable work-ready heels on the market today.
